She was on time and thorough in her explanations and highlighted popular and interesting pieces that showed what inspired Klimt in his work, and the shifts in his paintings as he evolved artistically.

Spectacular Museum Tour - Highly Recommend! When we booked this tour, we thought it would be a nice way to see the highlights of a large art museum on a private tour. It so exceeded our expectations! Julia is possibly the best guide we have ever had on any or our many tours. Her enthusiasm, knowledge, humor, and engaging personality drew us in immediately. We learned the historical context of why art was made, how it was used, and how it evolved, all while learning about the history and techniques used for the museum's masterpieces throughout various periods of time. The hours flew by, and Julia engaged us the entire time. It was an interesting, thought-provoking, entertaining day that left us energized from such a wonderful experience! When we return to Vienna, we would book Julia for other tours. We HIGHLY recommend booking Julia for this tour!

Julia was superbt! I am a teacher, and appreciated the way she "set up" the tour- first giving me context and then leading me to the 3 museums and explaining what was going on in Klimt's life at each stage. No time was wasted. She packed as much as possible into our 3 hours. One suggestion would be to eliminate the auto-generated instructions to meet 15 minutes early. She was unaware of them, & for 15 minutes I was worried no one was meeting me.

What I missed in my college Humanities course. My wife and I had an amazing experience at the Belvedere with our private tour guide Julia. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about conveying the why’s as well as the how’s of some of the great art at the Belvedere. Great discussion on the symbolic color choices dictated by tradition in the early religious painting which immediately inform the viewer, whether a current day art historian or a medieval peasant as to the status and motives of the subjects of the painting. As a neuroscientist I was impressed with the story behind the funny faces sculptures of Messerschmitt and can see how the changing times and increasing interest in psychiatry and psychoanalysis in the time of Freud, changed his reputation from a pariah to a visionary artist. Finally, the “Star”‘of the collection - the Klimpt paintings including the famous “The Kiss”. Julia described how the faces of his portraits are all beautiful (as dictated by his patrons), but pay attention to the hands and their gestures - those reveal the underlying emotion of the subject. Just a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

It was much more than a Klimt tour. It was a great in-depth art history tour! We did not expect this tour to go into the history of art in Austria from earlier periods, but our guide advised us to look at some pieces to trace the development of art, promising that it would make us appreciate Klimt's works more. And we really did learn to appreciate Klimt's creativity and talent more completely. Seeing how much Klimt was able to put into his art made us respect and admire his work so much more. The Kiss is a masterpiece like no other! We loved this tour and would highly recommend it!

Amazing private tour of Klimt's art. Julia is a very knowledgeable art historian. You can learn about both the art and artwork. Highly recommend for anyone who is an art lover and would like to deeply understand art and artists.

A tour that exceeded my expectations many, many times I came to the Leopold Museum with a very basic knowledge of Austrian art, I knew about Gustav Klimt of course, but not much more. In just two hours I not only learnt a few names or had a number of paintings explained to me, but thanks to my brilliant guide Julia I now have a very vivid picture of what was going on in art in Vienna. Julia really has a talent for making you see complexity without overloading you with any kind of technicalities. Highly recommended.

Fabulous Art Tour Guide in Vienna My husband and I arranged for two private art tours with Julia: the “Vermeer, Bruegel, Titian” tour in the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the “Big Tour of Gustav Klimt’s” art in three separate museums. We wholeheartedly recommend Julia. She is one of our favorite tour guides ever.

To begin with, Julia’s knowledge of art and art history is encyclopedic. She doesn’t just explain the key elements of a painting; rather, she describes how the artist was influenced by older artists as well as current peers and how these influences manifest in a given painting. She also pointed out hidden elements and not-so-obvious themes in the paintings (and in the museums that contain the art works) that really enhanced our appreciation and understanding. In fact, Julia made me so excited about art that I’m actively thinking about enrolling in an art history class.

If you treat yourself to an art tour with Julia, you will not be disappointed.

We Loved This Tour! My husband and I learned so much about art, it’s history, what is art, why are some pieces of art valuable as well as many technical aspects about paintings in this short tour! I will visit art museums now with a completely different perspective. It broadened my understanding and appreciation of art!

Julia our guide was fantastic. We enjoyed learning of how Klimt’s artwork derived and hysterically how the artists worked and created for the aristocracy. Overall, this was a fantastic tour and very well worth the money!

Probably the best gallery tour I’ve been on This made our city break memorable. Julia not only talked about the paintings (6) and the artists but also gave some very interesting insights into the science and psychology of art. I found it inspirational, the time flew by (3hrs)

We had an unparalleled tour that included the Upper Belvedere, the Secession building, and the Leopold museum, focusing on the artist Klimt. The tour was informative and fun, just the right length of time, and a real highlight of our trip to Vienna. We actually tried to engage her for additional Tours but of course she was already booked. Highest quality tour The Leopold Museum has such a great collection, but we would never have understood or even been able to see it without Julia's excellent guidance. This tour was so much more than just information about artists and paintings. It was the most emotional, intelligent and witty encounter with art we have ever had.

Julia was a sensational tour guide. She was deeply knowledgeable not only about Klimt as a singularly brilliant artist and cultural touchstone, but also pointed out the arc of his influences from the middle ages thru the rise of industrialization and capitalism. The connections she made about the unchanging iconography of power (let’s hear it for gold necklaces) were impactful. And just this morning we were “reading” a medieval mantelpiece at St Stephen’s from left to right! Just like you taught us, Julia! In a word, unforgettable.

Most excellent art gallery. This is one of Vienna's most famous art gallery. It houses tens of thousands of world-famous paintings, sculptures and other artefacts. Go and enjoy yourself thoroughly! And take at least half a day's time for it!
